Charlene Andersen is one of the carnivore community’s longest-term practitioners, having followed a carnivore diet since around August 1998. Her journey began while she was struggling with a long and complicated list of health challenges, most notably Lyme disease, amenorrhea, degenerative disc disease, and trichotillomania, along with binge eating and severe reactions following allergy treatments.
Charlene and her husband spent years researching, experimenting, and carefully observing how different foods affected her health before she ultimately settled into an all-meat approach.
Her experience has quietly influenced the carnivore movement for years; she and her family were being cited as unusually long-term carnivores well before the diet gained its current visibility. After keeping much of her story private for many years, Charlene is now sharing it more openly through interviews and her own platforms, offering the rare perspective of someone with nearly three decades of lived carnivore experience.
